Lucy finalises for Young Hairdresser of the Year

Lucy Tuck finalises for The Clothes Show Young Hairdresser of the Year!

The Clothes Show Live is hosting a countrywide search to find the next Young Hairdresser of the Year, and Lucy Tuck of Marc Antoni in Woodley has finalised as a competitor amongst her peers.

Young Hairdresser of the Year is all about uncovering the next big thing in hair, and shining a light on young talent, who are striving to make their mark upon the ubiquitous industry. To finalise in such a competition, Lucy had to meet the initial criteria of being under 30 with a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years stylist experience, and then to submit a photographic showing a ladies commercial look based on current and emerging trends. Having learned that she is a finalist, Lucy will now recreate this image live on stage at The Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s NEC Centre on Sunday 4th December.

Industry icons Errol Douglas MBE, Leo Bancroft, Mark Woolley, and Lee Stafford will be judging the event and should Lucy be the fortunate winner, aside from the glory of being crowned Young Hairdresser of the Year, she will also take home £1,000 prize money and a trophy commemorating her success.

Lucy has been busy throughout 2011 carving out a reputation as one of the ‘One’s To Watch’, having participated in the prestigious Coterie Show sponsored by leading manufacturer Wella, during London’s Fashion Week, and also working as one of the Sebastian MOB (Most Outrageous and Bold) Team members, and of course looking after her loyal clientele in the salon.

Of her finalising position Lucy said; “This is my first major competition, and I’m so excited to take part in it. It is so relevant to me, as a young hairdresser, it’s great that they are offering us the chance to get out there and show what we can do. I think no matter what the outcome it will be an incredible learning curve.”

Salon Manager Altin Ismaili commented: “We are immensely proud of Lucy’s initiative and will make sure that we are there to cheer her along”.
