Dan's our man

  • Posted: 4th February 2011 by Marc Antoni

Our super-talented Fleet salon hairdresser, Dan Spiller, has been recognised by his professional contemporaries with a staggering FOUR hairdressing successes!

First of all, Dan won the top award – the Gold Award – in the Young Talent category of the Wella Professionals Trend Vision UK Final 2010. He reached the final after beating hundreds of regional competitors from all across the UK.

Dan’s interpretation of Nature’s Goddess (one of four hair trends created by Wella Professionals) wowed the judges, seeing him triumph over 35 finalists to bring the Gold Award back to Fleet! Hosted by Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley and with a live performance from Paloma Faith, the Trend Vision Final attracted hundreds of UK hairdressers and was: “A brilliant night, absolutely amazing,” says a happy Dan.

Secondly, he won Hair Magazine’s New Talent Award, sponsored by KMS, which will see Dan working on many consumer promotions over the next 12 months, including assisting the KMS UK Art Team on its 2011 photo shoot.

“Everything I’ve been involved in until now has been recognised by the trade, so to win something in the consumer press is surreal. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead and going wherever the journey takes me!”

Thirdly, Dan’s been hand-picked to be one of the six members of the Wella Professionals Generation Now! Team – all set to showcase its skills at hairdressing seminars, shows, photo shoots and training events.
And saving the best til last, the most exciting news of all is Dan’s debut photographic collection – entitled Edge – won him one of the UK’s most coveted industry awards: Newcomer of the Year 2010 in the British Hairdressing Awards. “I’m so thrilled,” says Dan. “I was in a state of shock walking up to the stage to be awarded my trophy and remember the host, Jonathan Ross shaking my hand but that’s about all!”

But to all Dan’s clients: don’t panic! Despite four dizzying successes, he’s not going anywhere. When asked where he sees his future after such outstanding results, Dan remains firmly grounded. “Oh, with Marc Antoni, without a doubt. The company keeps pushing me and I love every opportunity it puts in front of me.”
